Welcome to FARA’s charity website. We hope to bring you up to date information on our activities and how you can help.



The FARA FOUNDATION is a registered charity both in UK and Romania and has been actively working with orphaned and abandoned children in Romania since 1991 when the deplorable conditions of Romania’s state orphanages were first revealed.

In Romanian FARA means “without" and the charity is dedicated to transforming the lives of some of the poorest and most marginalised children in Eastern Europe – providing care and education whilst giving Christian values and hope for the future.

FARA’s work in Romania not only restores the lives of the children in their care but also the communities in which they live – this means that thousands more will benefit from our investment in their future.
