The fifteenth anniversary of St Gabriel's was marked with a special FARA family celebration. The guest of honour was the new British Ambassador to Romania, His Excellency Paul Brummell, who attended with his family and was welcomed by FARA's founder and Chairman Jane Nicholson. When the speeches were over the guests enjoyed watching a play performed by the children, inspired by their favourite stories.
Among the guests were former St Gabriel’s residents - young people who have now gone on to live independently, including some who are married and have children of their own. In the 15 years since it was founded, 33 children have lived at St Gabriel’s. Of these, four teenagers have completed high school, ten have been reunited with their parents, three have gone forward to foster care or adoption, four are now living independently, and three have started a family.
At the end of celebrations one of the children said: "I want to thank God for giving us such a beautiful day."
