Health apprentices at St Theresa's!

Children who attend St.Theresa’s centre inFălticeni participate in many activities to help with gaps in their development. These include physical therapy and speech therapy, individually and in groups.

Just recently, however, a completely novel approach has been tried: children have replaced the health professionals! In fact, it was hard not to take them seriously, especially since they put on nurses uniforms which they had made themselves.

The children were told about medical equipment and how to use it and then gave injections to dolls, bandaged each other and checked pulses – all with great enthusiasm.

By getting involved in these activities even small children were able to learn a little about the work of doctors and nurses while developing empathy with the health problems of others.
