Over 40 volunteers from the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport at the University of Suceava come regularly to the Emanuel Therapy Centre to support the children there. All of them are motivated by the idea of improving the quality of life of children with special needs.
‘I think volunteering encourages young people to engage with society and become more responsible and active. We see a growing trend for students to do more than just attend college, and this can only be a positive development.’ Alexandra Grigoras, Project Manager, Emmanuel Center
Volunteers are divided into groups of three to four. They then observe and interact with the children, gaining valuable experience for their future profession.
‘This internship has helped me understand what it means for a child to have special needs. The staff I met at the FARA Foundation were very special people – very professional – and they made it clear that they appreciated our work and its benefits for the children’ Victor Scrijoschi, Volunteer
