Miruna's Story

Making big steps at the St Teresa Therapy Centre

When Miruna visited the FARA Therapy Centre she had been given a complex diagnosis, including malnutrition, craniofacial dysmorphia and delayed development. Coming from a modest background and having had a difficult start Miruna’s mother was exhausted by the thought of her daughter's recovery. Depressed and hopeless she was told about the FARA’s St. Teresa's Centre.

"When I first went to St. Teresa's, at the recommendation of an aunt, Miruna was one and was only just sitting, she wasn’t able to get out of bed. Often times I was depressed and the people from FARA, being good professionals, had already read my soul and understood me - giving me another sense of life, encouraging me.

"After two months of physiotherapy, she started to use a walker, then she could stand by her own, and at the age of 1 year and 6 months, so after 6 months of kinesiotherapy, my little girl was doing her first steps. As long as we have the St Teresa Centre with us, we are optimistic our little girl will be healthy. We want to thank, from our whole heart, all the members of the St. Teresa Centre team.”
