Notting Hill Donations Hub Launch

photo of a man in an apron pouring prosecco into glasses on a table covered in a white tableclothWe were thrilled to welcome many new and existing supporters to the launch of our Notting Hill donations hub on September 12th with a special late opening at our adults store on Elgin Crescent that included drinks, a luxury raffle and discounted shopping from a specially curated selection of pre-loved designer and vintage items.

From now on we’re accepting donations of adults’ clothes, books and jewellery at Elgin Crescent and our Notting Hill Kids store round the corner on Ledbury Road.  The event was designed to raise awareness of this new approach, as some supporters find the Ledbury Road address easier to access with donations.

Guests were served prosecco on arrival by the Jeroboams team and offered sweet treats from Hummingbird Bakery and soft drinks from Aqua Carpatica, a fellow Romanian brand that also supported us at our Clapham event earlier in the summer.

As they shopped for their next #FaraFind, our guests enjoyed live entertainment from the talented Kipp Boucher on guitar. The lucky winners of our luxury raffle took away a meal for two with bubbly at nearby brasserie Portobello 177, aA man "Kipp Boucher" sits at the back of a charity shop on a stool playing an acoustic guitarpampering set from Neal’s Yard Remedies, a magnum of Jeroboams champagne, a Biscuiteers biscuit tin and decorating masterclass, plus a FARA shopping and styling session.

It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces, many of whom have been supporting us for more than 20 years and some who travelled across London, especially for the event.

We are hugely grateful to everyone who joined us on the night and to all those who continue to donate second-hand goods in Notting Hill and at all our stores across London.

Without your support, we could not continue our work in Romania, where our programmes provide vital help to children, young people and families in the country’s most disadvantaged areas.

Thanks also to our sponsors for their generous raffle prizes.

This was the first of several late openings and events we’re hosting in the autumn, so please watch this space for further details.
