FARAxLCF returns for a second year
FARA and London College of Fashion Unveil Sustainable Fashion Collaboration: FARAxLCF 'Sustainability is in Our Jeans'
FARA Charity Shops have again teamed up with the London College of Fashion for our much-anticipated collaboration, FARAxLCF.
This year’s theme, ‘Sustainability is in our Jeans’, spotlights the environmental impact of jeans production, specifically the wasteful use of precious water. It follows the highly successful first iteration of FARAxLCF in the autumn of 2022, which was themed around the 1990s.
On January 4th, a cohort of second-year LCF students embarked on a creative journey at our Islington store, carefully selecting from a range of ‘deadstock’ denim. Their mission? To craft unique, wearable outfits entirely from discarded denim, aligning with the overarching theme of sustainability.
Nineteen talented students have enthusiastically participated in this eco-conscious initiative. Their innovative creations are now set to undergo evaluation by a panel of esteemed fashion industry experts. From this, the ten most outstanding designs will advance to the final judging at London College of Fashion in Stratford on February 1st.
The judging will be followed by a gala evening at our Islington store on February 8th.
FARA and LCF’s collaborative venture not only showcases the students’ creativity but also underscores the importance of sustainable practices in the fashion industry. Stay tuned as we unveil the top ten designs that exemplify how ‘Sustainability is in Our Jeans’.
