We are recruiting for a friendly, approachable, highly organized, and customer-orientated Shop Manager at FARA Clapham Kids Books.

We are recruiting for a friendly, approachable, highly organized, and customer-orientated Shop Manager at FARA Clapham Kids Books . You will join a vibrant, fluid, and busy charity retail environment where no two days are the same and the local community is at the heart of everything we do.

FARA has 40 Charity Shops in London and 30 years of experience in Charity Retailing.

The Role

The Shop Manager’s main duty is to run the shop effectively. As a Shop Manager your duties will include::

Recruit shop staff and arrange shop cover
Supervise and train shop staff and volunteers
Delegate tasks
Motivate staff and volunteers
Encourage a positive team spirit
Meet Sales Targets
Create and maintain a welcoming ambiance
Deal with customer issues and queries effectively
Network with customers and the local community
Follow the Company’s Policies and Procedures
General admin
Till and Cash handling
Manual Handling

The Candidate

Previous experience as a Retail Manager or Team Leader
At least 2 years of Retail experience
Some experience with books, including children and adult books
Excellent customer service skills
Interpersonal and great communication skills
Problem-solving attitude
Organised and efficient
Hard-working
Positive approach
Sales driven
Lives within 45 minutes of the store

Working Times

Shop Opening Hours: 09:30-17:30
8-hour shift/ 30min paid break
5 days per week rota (Tue-Sat)

£30,311 annual salary, reviewed yearly every April
