It's holiday time!

As vacation time arrives in Romania, FARA’s children and young people have been enjoying the summer sunshine.

Children from the Emmanuel Therapy Centre in Suceava had a lovely day out at a nearby open farm. The horses were a big attraction – and rightly so, since ‘horse therapy’ is now a proven way of improving emotional and physical wellbeing, in children as well as adults.

Meanwhile, children from St Nicholas Family Home had a great change of scene when they went on holiday to the Danube Delta, Romania’s vast coastal wetland reserve. Fishing was high on the list of attractions, along with wildlife spotting and lots of lovely lazing around in boats.

Finally, young adults from St Raphael’s Community Home in Bucharest took to the hills north of the city for a time of picnics and nature rambles in the unspoilt countryside of the lower Carpathians.
